Great save by the kuiper, there
Floating Points shares ‘Kuiper’ studio version
18-minute mammoth is taken from a new EP.

This July, Sam Shepherd aka Floating Points follows up last year’s debut album ‘Elaenia’ with a new EP.
‘Kuiper’ is being led by an 18-minute track of the same name. Last month it landed in the form of an expansive live video, but now the studio version is streaming online.
The track jumps from heady, stop-start electronics through to muted guitar lines, berserk ‘Whiplash’-style percussion, before landing on a crazed, jazz-nodding close. There’s a lot to take in. To be honest, if Floating Points was a cheap sod, he could split this song into four parts and call it an EP. But be grateful that’s not the case - containing another track (‘For Marmish Part II’), the new release is out 22nd July via Luaka Bop / PLUTO.
