Wolf Alice, Arlo Parks and Ghetts are up for the 2021 Hyundai Mercury Prize
Celeste, Laura Mvula and Black Country, New Road also made the shortlist.
The sun is shining, the end of the week is near, and the best 12 albums from the last year have officially been announced!
Yes, the 2021 Hyundai Mercury Prize shortlist is here, highlighting some of the finest records released by UK artists this year.
Decided by a judging panel including last year’s winner Michael Kiwanuka, Annie Mac and Anna Calvi, those fighting it out with their debuts include Arlo Parks, Celeste and Black Country, New Road, while previous winners Wolf Alice are hoping to spend all the winnings at Hawley Arms once again. Ghetts and Laura Mvula both have had nods for their third full-lengths and the ever-mysterious SAULT will be going head-to-head with recent Number One scorers Mogwai.
