Promising quintet rise to power
Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker reunites side-project Mink Mussel Creek
Apparently the band are plotting a one-off gig.
Ever the busy-bee, Kevin Parker’s always got about a million projects on the go; be it songwriting gigs with Lady Gaga (casual) or playing with endless side-projects. In 2014, the Tame Impala frontman released ‘Mink Mussel Manticore’ - the sole record to come from his band Mink Mussel Creek. The line-up also includes Pond’s Shiny Joe Ryan, and former Tame Impala member and Pond frontman Nicholas Allbrook.
Now, it looks like Mink Mussel Creek are up to something. Kev shared a snap of the band - which formed in the early noughties - in the studio, with the caption “gettin the band back together.” Pitchfork reports that they’re plotting a one-off show, and they’re currently rehearsing for it.

In other Tame Impala news, Kev and co. just wrapped up a hectic summer out on the road with ‘Currents’. Who knows what they’re up to besides that, but a lone picture of Kevin in the studio looks promising.
