Future Islands confirm new album ‘The Far Field’

Dancing extraordinaires Future Islands have confirmed their new album, ‘The Far Field’. It’s out on 7th April - just as, ahem, the seasons change. Along with the news, they’ve shared the lead single, ‘Ran’. It’s a bit of a banger, and Samuel T. Herring is no doubt getting started on the choreography already.

‘The Far Field’ follows on from 2014’s breakthrough album ‘Singles’. It’s produced by absolute legend John Congleton - aka. St Vincent’s go-to producer, who has also worked with Alvvays, Chairlift, and John Grant. It features guest spots from Debbie blimmin’ Harry of Blondie fame, and sees new drummer Michael Lowry manning the kit for the first time in the Baltimore band.

The band previously announced a tour, which will no doubt feature a lot of this new album; full details here. They’ll also headline Green Man Festival.
