Sigur Ros Album Scheduled For May
Titled ‘Valtari’, it’s the follow up to 2008’s ‘Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust’.

Sigur Ros have revealed - via an interview with Q - that their sixth studio album is set to be released on 28th May.
Titled ‘Valtari’, it’s the follow up to 2008’s ‘Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust’ and is being produced by Jónsi and long-time collaborator Alex Somers.
Speaking to Q Magazine, the band had this to say:
“(‘Valtari’ is) more electronic stuff than before… But don’t worry, we haven’t made a dance record.”
Adding:
‘I’d compare (the album) to looking at an old landscape painting… like an avalanche in slow motion.”
Only a partial tracklisting is currently available, featuring the following:
Ég Anda
Ekki Múkk
Varúð
Rembihnútur
Dauðalogn
Varðeldur
Valtari
The band will be in Europe this summer to play Rock En Seine, Steinberggasse, Paradiso, and Electric Picnic, amongst others.
