Alt-J reveal they’ve been working at Abbey Road
They posted images of string and brass sections at the studio.

With Alt-J being added to the line-ups for NOS Alive, Mad Cool and Lowlands festivals this year, you’d probably be right in thinking that they might just be up to something this year. Eat your heart out, Sherlock.
Three years on from the release of ‘This Is All Yours’ (yes, really, that long!) it looks like the guys are hard at work on that third album. Well, if their Instagram is anything to go by anyway.
Yesterday they posted three photos taken from the famous Abbey Road studios, showing that they’re working on something that appears to be chock full of strings and brass. In one they simply show off the doors to the studio with the caption “great day”.
A new record has been in the works for a while now. When we chatted to the band’s Thom Sonny Green in August last year, he told us: “we’re thinking about it [the next Alt-J album]. We really want to do it, and it’s quite daunting, but as soon as we start, it’ll be fine. All we ever want to do is write interesting things, so we might write an entire album with an acoustic guitar and a tambourine. We’ll see.”
Looks like LP number three might not be too far off after all then…
Take a look at their photos below.
