Are Queens of the Stone Age ‘on a break’?

Bassist Michael Shuman reckons so, as he’s promoting Mini Mansions’ album.

With Mini Mansions releasing new album, ‘The Great Pretenders’ next week, Michael Shuman has had ‘quite a bit’ to say to ‘quite a lot of people’. Unsurprisingly, one of those things he’s been talking about his ‘other band’, Queens of the Stone Age.

Shuman reckons the rock behemoths are ‘on a break’, telling Gigwise “Mini Mansions is my focus right now. There will be future stuff with Queens, we’re just taking a break since we had a long, long two years of touring. We’ll take a break to do other stuff.”

His other stuff, obviously, being the Mini Mansions album he’s currently promoting. It features both Brian Wilson (yes, that one) and Alex Turner as guests, Turner appearing on the latest track to be unveiled from the album, ‘Vertigo’.

Read an interview with the band about Turner’s involvement here.

Mini Mansions have a string of live dates plotted across North America, including slots with Royal Blood and Tame Impala.
