Norwegian newcomer Aurora has shared a new single, following her tracks ‘Under Stars’ and debut ’Awakening’ in 2014. ‘Runaway’ is the young Bergen based songwriter’s first output for 2015, and is out now via Decca Records.
‘Runaway’ sees Aurora build on the glacial pop of her previous work, tackling more mature themes in turn. A song about a former love, Aurora’s voice yearns to leave and escape the pain. Praying to a high power, she asks her deity “take me home where I belong, I’ve got no other place to go”, set to a backdrop of twinkling electronics.
Aurora had announced a date in London alongside an appearance at this year’s Great Escape Festival. Aurora plays the following:
FEBRUARY
24 London, Courtyard Theatre (free show)
MAY
14-16 Brighton, The Great Escape
