Big screen: Azealia Banks to make acting debut in RZA-directed ‘Coco’ film

The ‘Broke With Expensive Taste’ star will be appearing in the production.
Azealia Banks is set to make her big screen debut in a new film directed by Wu Tang Clan’s RZA.
‘Coco’ is an adaptation of a screenplay by Nicole Jefferson Asher, and it’s a Lionsgate/Codeblack Films production.
Filming has started on the release, with Banks set to play the starring role as a “20-something female rapper named Coco.” The plot describes a scenario where “having returned to school, Coco soon discovers the vivid world and ultimate power of the spoken word, where she finds her one true voice and an unlikely love in the classroom.”
Banks’ debut album ‘Broke With Expensive Taste’ is out now.
