Bat For Lashes shares new standalone track, ‘Skin Song’

New Bat For Lashes material has been on the horizon for some time, but it’s arrived in unconventional form. ’Skin Song’ forms part of a new compilation called ‘Body of Songs’, which sees artists singing about various body parts (personal favourites, pet hates) in the name of science.

Close to the touch, Natasha Khan’s contribution is suitably intimate. Nothing showy or overboard, it spins in orbit and peers into view. The track links up with contributions from other artists such as Ghostpoet and Goldie - it’s tentatively due out in 2015.
