BBC Sound Of 2012 Longlist Revealed

Frank Ocean, Azealia Banks and Niki & The Dove are among the names tipped in this year’s BBC Sound of 2012 poll.

Other acts making an appearance include Spector, Skrillex, Friends, Jamie N Commons and Dry The River.

The annual list is voted for by over 180 journalists, tastemakers, commentators and various industry types (though, for the record, DIY isn’t able to vote; we’ve got our own active record label - so don’t blame us if you disagree - Ed). Last year Jessie J topped the poll, with previous winners also including Adele, Little Boots and, arm, The Bravery.

The fifteen strong long list will be ordered and reduced to a top five in early January. The full list of names reads:
