Bloc Party, Yard Act, Sigrid & more to play Live at Leeds in the Park 2025
The Kele Okereke-led quartet will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of their iconic album ‘Silent Alarm’ with their headline slot.
The clocks might be about to go back, with the dark evenings drawing in, but that doesn’t mean we’re not already looking ahead to next summer. And what a summer it’s already set to be: Live at Leeds in the Park have shared their first 2025 line-up announcement, and it’s looking very special indeed!
Next year’s edition of the Temple Newsam festival will see indie legends Bloc Party top the bill, as they celebrate the 20th anniversary of their iconic album ‘Silent Alarm’. Leeds’ royalty Yard Act will also be heading to the fest, alongside other ace acts including Sigrid, Jamie Webster, Fat Dog, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, We Are Scientists and more - plus, Natasha Bedingfield will be bringing the top tier pop bangers, as she marks the anniversary of ‘Unwritten’.
As ever, there’ll also be a strong contingent of buzzy new artists, with the likes of Luvcat, Getdown Services, Chloe Slater and Cliffords also on the bill. While - new for 2025! - next year’s event will also boast a comedy and performance stage, and a very special on-site pub, The Two Legs, where punters can indulge in some extracurricular fun, including Shaun Williamson’s Barrioke(!!), and musical bingo with yours truly.
Speaking about their involvement in the fest, Yard Act’s James Smith has said: “We’ve watched LAL grow from a humble inner city do into a fully fledged outdoor staple of the UK festival circuit. Having all previously played it in former bands, we’re excited to finally come together (like voltron) as Yard Act to play it once more.”
“It’s always a privilege to work on Live at Leeds, but there’s something about this announcement that feels particularly special,” the festival’s promoter/ booker Joe Hubbard has added. “The first band shirt I ever bought was the Silent Alarm album tee, so to have Bloc Party performing the album (and other greatest hits) to celebrate 20 years is a big bucket list one for me. We have some real critically acclaimed artists joining us as well as some big festival fun, and I can’t wait to see it all take place in May 2025.”
Tickets for next year’s event go on sale from this Friday (25th October) via Live at Leeds’ website. And don’t forget: Live at Leeds will also host their annual In The City event next month, with the likes of Everything Everything, Marika Hackman, English Teacher and loads more all playing the inner-city all-dayer.
