Boots covers St. Vincent in studio session
Beyoncé’s producer also debuts a new track, ‘Only’.
Shooting to prominence after his stint as a producer on Beyoncé’s 2013 self-titled album, Boots has been hard at work carving out a solo career for himself. Released in May, his debut mixtape ‘WinterSpringSummerFall’, which featured stellar collaborations with Sia and Son Lux, was quickly followed up by ‘Mercy’ and ‘I Run Roulette’, two singles notable for their effortless minimalism.
Recently calling into Studio 360 to lay down a session for their ‘Sideshow’ podcast, Boots (real name Jordy Asher) took to the piano to belt out a haunting love-letter to St. Vincent, mixing together two of her tracks (‘Cheerleader’ and ‘Prince Johnny’) in one soulful sitting. Before leaving, he also found the time to run-through a mournful new track of his own entitled ‘Only’.
