Being a Brand New fan is an emotional rollercoaster. Late last year frontman Jesse Lacey announced that they’d be “going away for a while.” Then there was the t-shirt that declared ‘Brand New: 2000-2018,’ before Lacey claimed the band were “done” after a gig in Salt Lake City in June. Are you keeping up with this? They then offered up a new B-side, ‘Out of Range’, a couple of weeks ago. Phew, that’s a lot of drama.
Seems like there’s another big twist though, as the band have suggested that they’ll never break up. In the inlay to the imported 10” versions of ‘3 Demos, Reworked,’ they say that they are “never finished.” That’s one heck of a curveball, lads.
Banquet Records handily tweeted a video unveiling the inlay, asking “what does it ‘Mene’.” Clever clogs. See the message below and judge for yourself what on earth is going on. We give up.
