Esben and the Witch share 15-minute long ‘The Jungle’ track

Brighton group aren’t short on ambition when it comes to previewing their new album.

This September, Esben and the Witch are releasing their third album ‘A New Nature’. It’s their first on Nostromo Records, a self-run label. Presumably that’s given them a bigger licence to experiment, exhibit A being this new track, ‘The Jungle’.

Spanning over the fifteen minute mark, this eventually galloping, clamourful track is a frighteningly tense number that always threatens to explode. Rachel Davies doesn’t hold back on grim details, and there’s an uneasiness to this piece that ranks alongside Mica Levi’s recent ‘Under the Skin’ soundtrack. Terrifying, in a nutshell.

Esben and the Witch play London’s Oslo venue on 4th September. Tickets are available here.
