Ezra Koenig makes TV cameo on The Jack and Triumph Show

Considering the caliber of his Twitter feed - which could easily rival any cable comedy show - and his quick-sharp wit, it was only a matter of time before Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig made a TV comedy cameo. Appearing alongside the cigar-puffing puppet-dog Triumph - a regular fixture of Late Night With Conan O’Brien - and 30 Rock’s Jack McBrayer, Koenig does just that on brand new Adult Swim sitcom The Jack And Triumph Show.

Ezra Koenig saunters into Cafe Jack with his friends to pick up a skinny soya mocha made with horchata-infused coffee beans (probably) and Triumph quickly takes a disliking to the well-dressed frontman, laying into him from the off. It’s not the first time that the bad-mannered puppet-dog has burned musicians - he’s previously had a go at Eminem and Moby.

All credit to Ezra Koenig; he takes Triumph’s cruel jibes about the size of his fanbase and his “fruity” songwriting in good humour, responding with a very measured “that was unnecessarily cruel.” Watch the clip below, and look out for Koenig when the full episode airs on Friday at 11.30PM EST:
