Formation release new track ‘Young Ones’
South London duo follow up a white label release.
South London siblings Formation have shared a new track in the form of a video. ‘Young Ones’ was directed by Hans Lo, who has previously worked with Jagwar Ma, Simian Mobile Disco and Teengirl Fantasy.
The track itself is a cowbell heavy and feverish new cut from the duo, with the visual animation making use of the lyrics scrawled on a chalkboard style background. Bass and hi-hat heavy, it captures a sound of nascent urban funk, hooked with a spirit reminiscent of early DFA recordings.
‘Young Ones’ precedes a brand new EP release from the duo set for release in the new year.Formation will also be doing a 2-hour takeover on London’s NTS Radio from 12am on 18th December.
