Foxygen announce new album ‘… And Star Power’, share ‘How Can You Really’

Foxygen have announced plans to release a mammoth double album this October.
It’s called ‘… And Star Power’ and it brings together 24 tracks recorded by Jonathan Rado and Sam France in the former’s Los Angeles studio. It follows 2013 album ‘We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic’, which kickstarted a year embroiled in controversy and conflict.
The record’s being described by the band as a “svelte 82-minute run time of psych-ward folk, cartoon fantasia, soft-rock indulgences, D&D doomrock and paranoid bathroom stompers,” which is incredible.
In Foxygen’s first interview around the new record, Jonathan Rado says: “At the end of the year you sit down and you’re pretty worn out and you try and figure out how to get back to where you were. That’s what the new album was about. It was a tough year and a confusing year for sure, but we were kids just being thrown out in the world with no idea of how to do anything, no-one to really tell them what to do.
“Some are a minute long, some eight minutes. ‘How Can You Really’ is the first song on the record. We sort of invite the listener in.”
The lead single, ‘How Can You Really’, can be streamed below via a Grant Singer-directed, office scene video.
