Foxygen Cancel Shows After Frontman Suffers Injury

Sam France falls off stage in a Minneapolis show, forcing cancellations.

Rock’n’roll fanatics Foxygen have ticked off another box on their ‘rockstar bucket list’ by cancelling shows because frontman Sam France broke his leg at a recent show.

A performance at Minneapolis’ First Avenue reportedly saw France fall off stage, requiring surgery the following day.

Two shows have been cancelled on Foxygen’s tour (with Twin Peaks acting as support): August 1st in Vancouver and August 2nd in Seattle.

Foxygen’s statement on Facebook reads: ‘Sadly, the Vancouver & Seattle shows will have to be cancelled. Sam needs to have surgery this morning. We will be back. Still a chance that Pickathon shows will happen, though they might be subdued performances. It all depends on healing & travel time. On the bright side, Sam will probably have a cool cane or something. Thank you all for understanding & much love to Twin Peaks for being awesome on this short, short tour. We’ll play again soon.’

In an interview for MTV Hive the band also claimed to have 50, maybe 60 songs recorded for a new album.
