Foxygen preview new double-album with ‘Cosmic Vibrations’
Jon Rado and Sam France’s ‘… And Star Power’ is out this October.

With Foxygen’s new ‘… And Star Power’ release, they’ve twenty-four tracks to choose from in previewing their forthcoming record. So far we’ve heard the addictive ‘How Can You Really’, plus previews of ‘Cannibal Holocaust’ and ‘Can’t Contextualize My Mind’. Now the duo of Jonathan Rado and Sam France are airing out ‘Cosmic Vibrations’.
The new track sees France taking on a newly-fledged baritone. Foxygen’s nostalgia value stays very much the same, but their songwriting’s less like a direct homage, more like a smart, adventurous use of trusted methods.
Earlier this year, Rado spoke to DIY about the forthcoming, ambitious new Foxygen album, and how their turbulent 2013 had an impact on future plans. “We made an album that sounded like every rock band and we then managed to live through every cliche. Every stupid thing you can think of,” he admitted in a ridiculously honest conversation.
