Chart update
Green Day on course for UK #1 with ‘Revolution Radio’
Group’s new album is top of the midweeks.
Green Day are set to score their third UK Number One album, with latest LP ‘Revolution Radio’.
The group’s 12th studio album is currently 13,000 copies ahead of Alter Bridge in the UK midweek charts, having sold 24,000 copies.
If ‘Revolution Radio’ goes top, it will be the third Green Day album to hit the top spot, following 2004’s ‘American Idiot’ and 2009’s ‘21st Century Breakdown’.
Other new entries include Feeder’s ‘All Bright Electric’, at #7, plus White Lies’ returning LP ‘Friends’, at #8.
DIY’s verdict of ‘Revolution Radio’ says, “If punk’s 50th anniversary has shown us anything, it’s that many old rockers grow old, go soft and give in. On that count, if not all, Green Day are faring pretty well.”
