HMLTD announce their long-awaited return with ostentatious new single ‘Loaded’
A suitably preposterous video and a run of October tour dates mark the return of HMLTD.
After a period of relative quiet, the much-hyped HMLTD have finally announced their return in melodramatic style.
A return both dreaded and anticipated (delete as applicable), the divisive band’s new single ‘Loaded’ comes with a flamboyant, Mood Killer-directed video which you can see below.
It’s the band’s first music since a run of singles in 2018, with their debut album still awaiting a release date.
“‘Loaded’ is a song about a Faustian bargain, inspired by real events of which we were very much a part,” say the band.
“Satan found our souls to be faulty and has been fully refunded. ‘Loaded’ is a story of self-deprecation, self-aggrandisement, and self-commodification. It is a self-help book to recovering from all of the above.
“‘Loaded’ is a song about material wealth and spiritual poverty; the depths of which we have ploughed and plundered til penniless in both pound and principle. We have scraped the barrel of our hollow, piggy bank soul husks to bring it into this world. We did it for you, but mainly for us.”
In addition to the new track and their opus of a press quote, the band are going on tour across the UK next month. The dates are below.
