Holly Humberstone returns with darkly romantic new single ‘Die Happy’
It’s her first solo release since 2024’s aptly-titled ‘work in progress’ project.

Breakout singer-songwriter Holly Humberstone is back, and she’s leaning into a spellbinding world of Gothic romance with new track ‘Die Happy’.
Since her 2023 debut album ‘Paint My Bedroom Black’, Holly has stepped fully into adulthood, and this new chapter - which acts as a follow up to last year’s ‘work in progress’ EP (clue’s in the name, we guess) - finds her exploring newfound stability, agency, and emotional maturity.
“I wrote ‘Die Happy’ thinking about a fairytale at night, somewhere between driving fast with the windows down and wandering through a crumbling old house,” she has shared of her latest cut. “I took inspiration from The Bloody Chamber and Dracula and I wanted to show the feeling of throwing yourself into love fully and recklessly. There is danger in love.”
