Hurts share new track ‘Lights’

A departure from Hurts’ usual gloomy melodrama, ‘Lights’ skips along atop catsuit clad falsetto vocals, and sharp-edged synthetic violins.

Suit-sporting saucy warblers Hurts have shared a new song, ‘Lights’. Following the stomping ‘Some Kind Of Heaven’ - the lead single from forthcoming album ‘Surrender’ - ‘Lights’ marks a more dramatic new direction.

A departure from Hurts’ usual gloomy melodrama, ‘Lights’ skips along atop catsuit clad falsetto vocals, and sharp-edged synthetic violins. The track’s produced by Ariel Rechtshaid - who has worked with Haim, Charli XCX, and Sky Ferreira - and his hallmarks are all over it. ‘Surrender’ is produced by Jonas Quant - who also produced Hurts’ debut, ‘Happiness’. The band also worked with legendary producer Stuart Price, who has produced several The Killers records, Madonna’s ‘Confessions on a Dance Floor,’ and Everything Everything’s latest album ‘Get to Heaven’.

Listen to ‘Lights’ below. Hurts’ new album ‘Surrender’ is out on 9th October.
