Hell of a mic
Kanye West smashes mic after technical difficulties at Pan Am Games
The mic-crunching incident happened when sound problems put an early end to the rapper’s closing ceremony performance.
Kanye West’s set at the closing ceremony of Pan Am Games came to an early end this weekend due to sound difficulties. Yeezy had apparently planned to end his set with ‘Gold Digger,’ but instead he ended up smashing his microphone in spectacular fashion on the stage.
His performance took place during the closing ceremony of the major American sporting event, held in Toronto this year. During the medley set - which eventually lasted 13 minutes - Kanye performed ‘Stronger’, ‘Power’, ‘Black Skinhead’, ‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing’, ‘Touch The Sky’, ‘The Good Life’ and ‘All Of The Lights’.
When alleged technical difficulties put an early end to the set, Kanye hurled his microphone up into the air, with a killer smash that puts Alex Turner’s Brits antics to shame. As Robbie Williams once said “when I rock the mic, I rock the mic right”.
