For Drake's sake
Kanye West to headline both legs of Wireless Festival, as Drake cancels
Yeezus saves the day as a sick Drake pulls out of the festival.
Kanye West has at the last minute agreed to headline both legs of this year’s Wireless Festival in London, after Drake pulled out of proceedings for both Birmingham and London.
Yeezy was previously confirmed to headline just one night of the fest, but after rumours circulated that Drake would be cancelling, he swooped in to confirm himself for both 5th & 6th July legs in the UK capital.
Drake posted the following message to fans:
“To my beloved fans, it truly breaks my heart that I won’t be able to perform as planned at Wireless and Roskilde this weekend. I got sick a few days ago and although I am on my way to bouncing back, my doctors have made it clear that I am not physically fit to fly or deliver the performance my fans expect and deserve from me. I will be focused on resting for a quick recovery. I have the best fans in the world and I can’t wait to come back to make more incredible memories together.”
Birmingham attendees are being given £20 worth of credit which can be spent on food, beverages and merchandise. They’ll also be treated to an extended set from Rudimental, which might make up for the time that was pulled during their storm-hit Glastonbury set.
