Kanye West Tops UK Album Chart With ‘Yeezus’

This isn’t going to shunt the self-esteem. Kanye West has entered the UK album charts at the top spot, with new album ‘Yeezus’, out via Def Jam.

Yeezy’s new longplayer, which in a DIY review was labelled ‘the sound of a rapper pushing himself for all his worth’, is doubtless Kanye’s most challenging record to date, but it’s showing no sign of denting his impact on the charts.

Elsewhere, Sigur Ros’ ‘Kveikur’ - out via XL - entered at #9, with Kodaline’s debut ‘In A Perfect World’ debuting at #3.

In the singles chart, Tom Odell’s ‘Another Love’ went in at #10, while Arctic Monkeys’ ‘Do I Wanna Know?’ arrived at #11. Newcomers London Grammar went in at #31.

Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’, meanwhile, holds onto the top spot.
