Kate Bush gives her first broadcast interview since 2011
She talks about her Hammersmith Apollo residency.

In her first broadcast interview since 2011, Kate Bush has talked to BBC 6 Music’s Matt Everitt about her string of ‘Before the Dawn’ dates at the Hammersmith Apollo in 2014.
Bush is set to immortalise the series of concerts in a huge live album, released on 25th November, but in the interview she reveals that she was “terrified” to return to the stage.
In the interview she says: “I was really nervous every night. The most difficult thing was to be continually in the now. Because I naturally tend to race ahead in my mind. I’m always thinking about situations and running them through.” She also says that “once we started running the show, I had to be absolutely in that moment. And I was so terrified that if my mind wandered off, that when I came back, I wouldn’t remember where I was in the song.”
She also hints that the live album doesn’t mean the end of future releases, instead saying that it’s “just a rather big comma.”
