Kate Bush Praises “Brilliant” Olympic Closing Ceremony, Hopes We All Enjoyed ‘Running Up That Hill’

The singer took to her official website to make a brief statement about last night’s ceremony, at which she didn’t perform live despite rumours otherwise.

While many of us may have been a little disappointed not to see Kate Bush perform live at last night’s Olympic closing ceremony, the artist has praised what she (briefly) described as a ‘brilliant show’.

Though Kate had been tipped to perform live at the ceremony, the best we got was a new ‘2012 REMIX’ version of ‘Running Up That Hill’.

Posting the message on her website, Kate said: ‘I hope you all enjoyed the remix of Running Up That Hill this evening at the Olympics Closing Ceremony. They certainly put on a brilliant show.’

Despite not performing live, Kate still looks set to benefit from the song being played with the re-worked version of the track tipped to reach the Top Ten this weekend after being released yesterday.

The closing ceremony instead featured live performances from the likes of Kaiser Chiefs, The Who, Jessie J, and the Spice Girls.
