Listen: Damon Albarn Streams ‘Mr. Tembo’ Track
Damon’s gone all cheery on a preview of ‘Everyday Robots’.
In the build-up to debut solo album ‘Everyday Robots’, Damon Albarn’s showed his curious, experimental side; his melancholic slumber; his slightly more subdued form. Couple these with his subdued, head hung low, Keanu Reeves-channelling press shots and album artwork, Damon seemed a little sad. Now for something completely different.
‘Mr. Tembo’ was given an all-smiles rendition at this year’s SXSW Festival. Now, on record, it sounds just as cherry. Gospel choir-backed, ukulele-strummed, it’s the sound of Damon on a Sunny D high, up to his knees in delicious musical sugary goodness.
‘Everyday Robots’ is released on 28th April.
