Listen: Empty Pools Preview Album With ‘Exploded View’ Song
Bristol group’s latest song is all flurried, guitar-heavy rejoice.
Bristol band Empty Pools’ super rough-around-the-edges (production-wise) debut track ‘Vanderbilt Cup’ still stands tall as something of a mission statement. Supremely clever, tightly-wound, with just the slightest trace of chorus sitting neatly in the middle - it’s a standard bearer the group still measure up against, even in the months preceding the release of their debut album.
‘Exploded View’ (via SPIN) is the group’s most fully-formed release to date. All of ‘Vanderbilt…”s unhindered ambition comes full-circle. Guitar parts clash heads to gain a moment in the spotlight. Nothing feels underdone or underthought - this is exactitude all absolute.
It’s taken from a debut album, ‘Saturn Reruns’, released on 4th November through Battle Worldwide. Scroll down for tracklist & check out the band’s forthcoming tour dates with Eleanor Friedberger.
