HMLTD share new track ‘Blank State’

It’s our latest look into their long-awaited debut album, ‘West Of Eden’.

After yeeeeears of waiting, HMLTD’s debut album is finally nearly here. Set for release on 7th February, the five-piece are now giving us our latest taste of ‘West of Eden’ with new track ‘Blank State’.

Speaking on the new song’s inspiration, frontman Henry Spychalski explains: “Myths are the cultural primordial soup from which society emerges… our Western mythologies are steeped in male violence. They are powerful things, but to see them for what they are, a myth, is to genealogically undermine them. While we obviously must have humility about our limited role as artists, West of Eden exists to examine the myth of man and within ‘Blank Slate’ we propose a newer, better, kinder mythology. ‘The world is ours, and the world is a blank slate.’”

Talking more about the record itself, the group describe it as “a chronicle of struggle, born of struggle. Bringing it into the world has been the single greatest pain and privilege of our lives. Dust we are, and to dust we will return.”
