Everyone goes to Glastonbury. It’ll be quiet, they say. There’ll be nothing big happening. You can relax, kick back, watch the show.
And then, Pixies come back and blow everything wide open with their first original material since ‘Bam Thwok’ almost ten years ago.
There’s a new track, ‘Bagboy’, available for download and stream now. Though, as of two weeks ago, we were informed the hugely influential Kim Deal had left the band, it certainly sounds like she’s making an appearance. You can check it out below.
Update: Frank Black has confirmed that it is not Kim Deal singing on the track. Posting on the frankblack.net forums, he says it’s Jeremy Dubs, singer of the group The Bunnies.
‘I agree, it does sound a bit like Kim. But it’s my good friend Jeremy Dubs, one of the best people I’ve had the pleasure to know, both socially and professionally.’
