Listen: Warpaint Announce S/T New Album, Share ‘Love Is To Die’
LA group’s second, self-titled album is out in January 2014 via Rough Trade.

LA’s Warpaint have led up a couple of teasers with news of their second, self-titled album, plus its lead track, ‘Love Is To Die’.
Their return from 2010’s ‘The Fool’ comes out 20th January via Rough Trade. The album was recorded with Flood (with the exception of two songs mixed by Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich).
‘Love Is To Die’ is a stirring, shape-shifting giant. One second the attention is on sleepy verses, the next thing, the entire piece flips into an atmospheric giant.
Speaking to DIY, guitarist Theresa Wayman said about the new album: ‘I think something we’ve experimented with is simplifying – sonically and structurally. I think for some bands, well, most bands, it would be an experiment to become more complicated or avant garde in song structure, but for us it was more of an experiment to go in a different direction, and actually abide by some of the quote unquote rules of writing songs.’
