Morrissey To Play One-Off Manchester Show

The Smiths ex-frontman announces a one-off show at Manchester’s MEN Arena.

Morrissey has unveiled plans to play a one-off show in Manchester, as his only UK appearance of 2012.

The Smiths ex-frontman will be performing live at Manchester Arena on Saturday 28th July.

In other Morrissey-related news, EMI recently reissued copies of his debut solo effort ‘Viva Hate’, which came out at the end of March.

The album was originally released back in 1988, just six months after The Smiths’ final release but was reissued on the 26th March, this year, through the classic Liberty label.

‘Viva Hate’ has been remastered by Stephen Street, who was the original producer, with the release’s artwork being directed by Morrissey himself; choosing a selection of very rare and unseen photos from Jake Walters and Kevin Cummins to adorn the sleeves and booklet.

The new edition features ‘Treat Me Like A Human Being’, which replaces ‘Ordinary Boys’, alongside a written introduction from Morrissey’s long-time confidant Chrissie Hynde.

The album is available on CD and vinyl. The LP version is a 180g heavyweight, gatefold vinyl, housed in a wide-spine sleeve with a pull-out poster and the CD is housed in a gatefold, card sleeve.

Morrissey will also be releasing a limited edition 10’ picture disc of ‘Suedehead (Mael Mix)’, a remix of the song by Sparks. The single also comes with two previously unreleased live tracks, ‘We’ll Let You Know’ and ‘Now My Heart Is Full’ and is released in aid of Record Store Day 2012.
