Mr Fogg unearths Micachu remix of ‘Seciov’ track

Dating back to 2007 and available to hear for the first time below, we’ve got the first play of an unearthed Micachu remix of Mr Fogg’s ‘Seciov’ track.

Arriving shortly after Micachu announced her new cassette release, it also backs a huge year for Levi, in which she’s won praise for her ‘Under the Skin’ soundtrack.

The newly unveiled remix harks back to the early days of Micachu and the Shapes, jerky pop twisting conventional form.

“I first came across Mica in 2006 via her Myspace page. I was trawling through a load of electronic musicians late one night and came across some experimental hip-hop and r’n’b tracks she had uploaded. As a result we both ended up on a compilation of electronic music called “I Can Count” and played the launch party together,” remembers Mr Fogg.

“Last week I was reading an article about Micachu’s latest mixtape and I suddenly remembered that eight years ago she did a remix for me that has never been released…

“It feels like a really interesting snapshot of what she was up to at the time and gives you an idea of the sorts of sounds she was experimenting with early in her career.”

Mr Fogg is expected to release his new album early next year.
