Mumford & Sons guitarist Winston Marshall is taking comedy lessons

Not content with ditching the banjos? Chill, Winston.

Mumford & Sons are undergoing one hell of a transformation. First they ditched the banjos in favour of hard-rockin’ axes, then they swapped the waistcoats for the pinnacle of H&M’s ‘lovely shirts’ collection. Now, banjoer-turned-guitarist Winston Marshall has revealed he’s taking comedy lessons.

In an interview with Vulture, Winston reveals that the band’s new New York base introduced him to comedic institution Upright Citizens Brigade, where he took improv lessons. He recently performed his first monologue. Apparently it was “about condoms and being Jewish.” And didn’t go that well.

Maybe stick to the day job. It’s pretty rockin’ these days, after all, as new single ‘The Wolf’ will testify to.
