Paul McCartney announces world tour, collaboration with Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper

Paul McCartney has announced plans to take his ‘Out There’ tour to the UK.

Following recent collaborations with Rihanna and Kanye West (plenty more are in the works, most notably with Lady Gaga), Macca is playing UK dates this May.

He’s also been confirmed to play Roskilde Festival, Denmark, this July.

An appearance at London’s O2 Arena on May 23rd coincides with the 50th anniversary of ‘Yesterday’. “For me it’s a happy coincidence that The O2 show falls at this time. It’s great that people all over the world reacted so well to the song, it’s all you can hope for,” he says.

Outside of the new dates, McCartney’s announced himself as part of a new supergroup, The Hollywood Vampires (reports CoS). Consisting of Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, Paul visited the group’s studio to work on a new version of ‘Come and Get It’, his 1969 song for Badfinger. He’s unlikely to be joining the band on tour, where they’re confirmed to play Rock in Rio this September.
