Perfume Genius and Empress Of team up for new version of ‘When I’m With Him’
The track is taken from the LA singer’s 2018 LP ‘Us’.
Last year, Empress Of released her brilliant second album ‘Us’.
An undisputed highlight of the record was single ‘When I’m With Him’, and it’s now got a new version courtesy of none other than Perfume Genius!
A kind-of cover version, the track sees Mike Hadreas take lead vocals, but was produced in tandem with Lorely Rodriguez (Empress Of), so is more of a collaboration.
The new version strips away the driving percussion of the original, giving way to a more sparse and atmospheric version.
Empress Of is set to bring ‘Us’ to the UK later this year for three headline shows including a London gig at Scala.
