Reading & Leeds 2015
Reading 2015 kicks off with Mumford & Sons, Alt-J, Run the Jewels & more
DIY brings you all the action from this year’s festival - today also sees sets from Swim Deep and Drenge.
The tents are pitched, the gates are open, the noise is already streaming out the festival site - Reading 2015 has kicked off.
Topping day one is Mumford & Sons, here to prove they’re about more than just banjos with the sternest test yet of their electric route.
There are no questions over Drenge or Palma Violets’ amplified attributes, but both are playing of the biggest shows of their lives over on the Main Stage. Chances are the Loveless brothers are bricking it, and Palmas have just figured out what day it is.
If you spot anyone in a backwards cap running amok across Reading, there’s a 10% chance it’s Fred Durst and not some punter that’s gone a bit too far on day one. Limp Bizkit are one of the day’s most talked-about bookings, and they’re following a sure-to-be equally batshit set from the newly experimental Swim Deep.
Things keep on ‘Rollin” elsewhere with sets from Simple Plan and Django Django. Before that, expect highlights to arrive from Panic! At The Disco and Bastille (both set to showcase new material), plus Alvvays and festival staples Alt-J.
We’ll be bringing you all the reports and interviews from Reading 2015. Check out day one’s must-see acts below.
