SASAMI shares new video for ‘Free’
The LA-based artist’s debut album is out next month via Domino.

SASAMI has shared a beautifully shot new video for her track ‘Free’.
Filmed in Australia, directed by Riley Blakeway and featuring additional vocals by Devendra Banhart, Sasami explains that ‘Free’ is “a lopsided duet about how destiny plays into matters of the heart - how sometimes when you lose in love, freedom is the consolation prize, and in that way, you’ve actually transcended.”
It’s taken from the LA-based musician’s upcoming debut self-titled album, which is due out 9th March via Domino.
Speaking about the record SASAMI - aka Sasami Ashworth - explains: “It’s a mix of a diary and a collection of letters, written but never sent, to people I’ve been intimately involved with in one way or another… Ok, maybe they’re more like over-dramatic drafts of texts that you compose in the Notes section of your iPhone, but either way, they come from a place of getting something off my chest.”
She wrote the album’s ten tracks over the course of a year on tour, whilst playing keys and guitar with her former band Cherry Glazerr.
She’s also due to play a live show at the Lexington in London on 8th March.
