Self Esteem shares raunchy new single ‘69’, from forthcoming album ‘A Complicated Woman’
Rebecca Lucy Taylor has follows up her recent offering ‘Focus Is Power’ with a delicious, lip sync-ready new banger.

Calling all fans of RuPaul’s Drag Race - there’s a new track that we can’t wait to see the queens lip sync to! Our current cover star Self Esteem has shared another cut from her forthcoming new album ‘A Complicated Woman’, and its a deliciously saucy number.
Part stream-of-consciouness, part liberation anthem, ‘69’ sees Rebecca Lucy Taylor set the record straight on her favoured sex positions, and let’s just say it’s not looking great for the titular method. “I always wanted to write a song that lists sex positions and rates them,” explains Taylor, in a press release. “A lot of my music is saying the things I struggle to say in real life. I like the idea of clearly communicating your needs in one quick, three-minute house song. It is also political – women still are expected to cater to others sexually; I can’t hear another discussion about ‘faking it’, it upsets me too much! There’s enough inequality in the male/ female dynamic as it is. Our bodies go through so much more pain and suffering, please god let us get the pleasure where we can!”
The banger of a new track - which follows on from last month’s gorgeous lead single ‘Focus Is Power’ - also features an appearance from iconic queen Meatball, who introduces the song in fabulous fashion. “I’d already written the song and then months later my all-time favourite drag queen Meatball said pretty much the same on her podcast Sloppy Seconds,” she explains, “and I knew it had to make the album!”
The track gets lifted from her forthcoming third album, ‘A Complicated Woman’, which is due for release on 25th April via Polydor Records, and follows 2021’s Mercury Prize-nominated ‘Prioritise Pleasure’.
Alongside the new track, she’s shared an equally brilliant video which you can check out below - and for anyone, who missed our recent cover feature with Self Esteem, check it out now via the nifty button underneath the player.
