Adele’s new best mate Skepta is making a film about Boy Better Know
The ‘Hello’ star’s helped keep Skeppy “in check”, apparently.
Skepta’s not content with his Mercury Prize it seems - he’s gunning for an Oscar next.
Well, sort of. In a new interview with Evening Standard, the grime star’s revealed that he’s working on a movie, based loosely around his Boy Better Know collective. “It’s going to be about Boy Better Know but not in [a completely] autobiographical way,” he stated when asked what was next on the agenda. He’s also set to spend that £25,000 Mercury prize money on a bunch of youth-focussed community events around London, because he’s a top boy. Oh, and while we’re on the subject, Top Boy is coming back, and he’s a consultant on it. Busy fucker, then.
Elsewhere in the chat, he revealed that his new pal Adele’s been keeping his feet on the ground. “Adele texts me all the time and keeps me in check,” he revealed. “She speaks to me about how things are going. She’s one of the people I know that, from her [example] alone, you can move in a certain way where you’re not inviting fame. She’s the biggest artist in the world, bro, and you do not see her in the papers.”
