Hi, we're Sleater-Kinney...
Sleater-Kinney to host Reddit AMA later today
The Q&A session will take place at 5pm UK time, ahead of the release of the band’s first album in a decade next January.
Sleater-Kinney are set to host a Reddit AMA later today (2nd December).
The band will be answering questions in advance of the release of their new album ‘No Cities To Love’ from 12pm to 1:30pm Eastern Standard Time (that’s 5pm-6:30pm in the UK - Ed).
The album - Sleater-Kinney’s first in a decade - is due to drop on 19th January. The band have already discussed the record with NPR last month, explaining how the decision to reform came about.
“We were talking about playing music …” Corin Tucker told the station, “and I said, …’I wonder if we’re ever gonna do a Sleater-Kinney show again?
“We had two people in the room who are known fans of the band,” continues Carrie Brownstein. “One is Corin’s husband, Lance Bangs, and the other is [Carrie’s Portlandia Co-Star] Fred Armisen, who was a fan of the band long before he and I worked together…They were very encouraging, and I think just wouldn’t let that conversation die…It was something that began percolating then. We talked to Janet [Weiss] and, you know, the conversation started.”
Up to now, we’ve heard one full song, ‘Bury Our Friends’, and a few short clips. You can check out the former below.
The band will also appear on The Chris Gethard Show on Wednesday, playing a game called ‘ALL HANDS ON THE BAD ONE’.
