Spector release ‘Half Life’

The indie quintet drop their second song of 2019 and it’s all about FOMO.

After ‘I Won’t Wait’ burst into our lives in June, indie quintet Spector are back with their latest bop ‘Half Life’ which explores the feeling of having a bit of FOMO about your own life.

Taken from a forthcoming EP which is set to come out soon via their own Moth Noise imprint, it’s a melodic shimmery track that frontman Fred Macpherson describes as looking at “the worry that you’re losing touch with people, places, culture, no longer recognising yourself in the mirror, the constant tick of the clock in the background. It’s about wondering how much time you have left.” But with an upbeat mood, ofc.

With a huge UK headline tour set for later this year, Fred goes on to describe ‘Half Life’ in a way that we can only say is The Biggest Of Moods. “There’s nothing better than a group of people just losing it, all singing along to something a bit miserable,” he says. “That’s the life blood of the indie disco, handed down from generation to generation… Dancing with tears in your eyes”
