Speedy Ortiz are releasing their new album in 2017

Speedy Ortiz’s Sadie Dupuis is an incredibly busy bee right now; as well as putting out a pop solo record under her Sad13 moniker, she’s been occupied all over the place. From featuring on Field Mouse’s ace new record, and starring as evil in human form in Tancred’s latest music video, it’s a wonder she ever finds time to sleep.

Not content with spinning about a hundred musical plates at once, Sadie’s also revealed that Speedy Ortiz are currently at work on their new album at RIGHT THIS SECOND IN TIME.

“We’re working on the new record right now,” Sadie confirmed, speaking to DIY. “We’re doing a weird process this time; we basically made a demo of the whole record. We’ll hopefully record it properly end of this year, beginning of next year,” she expanded.

And in case there was any room for doubt, Sadie put it into the most concrete terms possible. “We’ll have a record out next year.”

There you go, then. The follow-up to ‘Foil Deer’ is due out in 2017.
