The band are throwing around more googly eyes than Neil Buchanan on Art Attack.

Speedy Ortiz get trippy in 'The Graduates' video

Karaoke? Check. Giant fluffy rabbits? Check. Genetically-modified googly eye-shaped pills? Yup, got ‘em. Safe to say that the latest video to come from the Speedy Ortiz camp is just that little bit trippy.

In the new clip for the band’s single ‘The Graduates’, things open as band leader Sadie Dupuis is locked away in her medical lab, perfecting her recipe for the best googly eye high. What ensues is all a bit chaotic; from the band imagining a giant rabbit to lacing an entire diner’s food with the pills, it doesn’t take long for madness to take over.

The track gets taken from the band’s brand new album ‘Foil Deer’, which is out now through Carpark Records. Speaking to T Magazine about the video, Dupuis has said it sees the band freeing themselves: “Speedy Ortiz is a group of merry pranksters trying to liberate our peers into the truth of love and freedom,” she said, “through googly eyes.”

Check out the clip, which also features a guest appearance from Palehound, below.
