No, really. They start a petrol fire.

Spring King get blazed in their new 'The Summer' video

Spring King have shared the video for their latest single ‘The Summer,’ and it’s an alternative take on a typical sunshine and beach-themed video, to put it incredibly mildly.

Things start out predictably enough, at first. Two likely lads set about trying to commandeer a luxury yacht, siphoning off petrol from nearby cars (tut, tut) and frolicking around with their stolen cans of fuel. In the end, they sack off the idea of sailing the seven seas, though, and decide to neck the whole lot on a mountainside instead, before setting fire to it. Most people just stick to tinnies in the park in summer, but each to their own we spose.

In Spring King’s own words, they “wanted the video to reflect the darker, surreal side of summers growing up”. A goal they certainly achieve here.

Spring King’s totally ace debut album ‘Tell Me If You Like To’ is out tomorrow (10th June). Read the DIY feature with the band here, and watch the Isaac Eastgate-directed video for ‘The Summer’ below.
