Suede drop new ‘Antidepressants’ single ‘Dancing With The Europeans’
According to Brett Anderson, the track’s title “sum[s] up the experience of looking for connection in a disconnected world”.

Britpop stalwarts Suede have offered up another taste of what to expect from their forthcoming tenth record ‘Antidepressants’ with new cut ‘Dancing With The Europeans’ - a track which the band have said epitomises the LP’s central message of interpersonal connection and shared human experience.
“There’s a sense of optimism about this song,” frontman Brett Anderson has recalled. “I remember specifically we were doing a gig in Spain during the time we were writing this album. I was going through a bad time and at a low, personally. But we played this brilliant gig. There was a great connection between me and the audience.
“I thought of the phrase, ‘dancing with the Europeans’. There’s something about that word, ‘Europeans’, that I really like. The phrase summed up the experience of looking for connection in a disconnected world. This sense of, ‘where do we find those bonds with our fellow human beings?’ That show in Spain broke down those barriers.”
Due out on 5th September via BMG, ‘Antidepressants’ has already been previewed by recent singles ‘Disintegrate’ and ‘Trance State’. To mark the album’s release, the band will be hosting a concert and event programme dubbed ‘Suede Takeover’ at London’s Southbank Centre, including an immersive, intimate gig on 26th August.
