Suede get meditative on new 'Antidepressants' track 'Trance State'

Having recently confirmed details of their anticipated next album ‘Antidepressants’ (due 5th September via BMG), Suede have now offered up another taste of what to expect from the LP in the form of new cut ‘Trance State’.

A tension-filled, angular number that initially recalls the dark allure of Joy Division, ‘Trance State’ follows ‘Disintegrate’ to be the second single shared from ‘Antidepressants’, and sees frontman Brett Anderson lyrically delve into notions of obsession and paranoia.

Speaking about the track, he has observed: “When you fall apart, there’s such an honesty and a truth to that. You’re revealing your real self. You’re presenting yourself to the world completely unvarnished. You’re not able to present a facade to the world anymore. It’s just you.”

To celebrate the release of ‘Antidepressants’, Suede will be taking over London’s Southbank Centre for four nights in September, with what promise to be a series of very special sold-out shows. You can find more details of Suede’s Southbank Takeover and watch the video for ‘Trance State’ below.
